Smartphone Photography Workshop with Ido Izsak
Discover how to capture professional, eye-catching photos using nothing but your smartphone.
Join photographer Ido Izsak for a 90-minute hands-on photo walk through the streets of Tel Aviv (or another visually inspiring location).
Learn the secrets behind portraits, creative selfies, documentary-style shots, and the art of seeing beauty in light, texture, and architecture — all through your phone’s lens.
Workshop Highlights
Portraits
How do you capture a truly striking portrait?
Learn to use your phone’s focus mode to separate the subject from the background, play with filters to enhance the image, and — most importantly — discover how to bring out real emotion from your subject.
Selfies
How do you create a dramatic selfie — or a glowing one?
We’ll explore techniques for taking the perfect selfie, including framing, lighting, and simple post-editing to achieve professional-looking results.
Landscape, Nature & People
Learn how to make the most of your phone’s lenses, focusing on composition and light.
How do you capture the perfect documentary-style shot? How do you approach people and tell a story through your photos?
Originality – Textures – Architecture
I believe each of us holds a spark of originality and the ability to see the world differently.
In this session, I’ll demonstrate creative ways to observe and frame what’s around us — exploring textures and architecture, choosing the right lenses and angles, and learning how to extract beauty from small details.
Lighting & Flash
At the end of the day, light is everything.
Different light sources can completely change the story a photo tells — whether it’s a person, a plate of food, or a building.
Learn to use light intentionally to create mood, depth, and meaning in every shot.
About Ido Izsak
Ido Izsak discovered his passion for photography at the age of 13.
With money from his bar mitzvah, he bought his first camera, majored in photography in high school, and later served as a military photographer. After completing his service, he became the assistant to Israel’s top fashion photographer, Ron Kedmi, and eventually built a successful career as a fashion photographer himself.
Ido later fell in love with mobile photography and founded his own content production company, IDOCVM, which creates Instagram-ready visual content for leading brands including Samsung, Castro, Golbary, Ramat Aviv Mall, Agadir, Carolina Lemke, Super-Pharm, and more.
“The kid who once peeked into the photography classroom instead of the mechanics lab,” he says, “now runs a company that lives and breathes visual storytelling.
I found what I’m best at — smartphone photography: real, raw, alive, and instant.
When you find what you’re truly great at, that’s when the magic happens.”
